My name is Shilpa Sajja, and I’ll be interning with Preemadonna this summer. I just graduated high school and am an incoming Freshman at Brown University where I hope to explore fields like Public Health and International Relations.
Throughout high school, I’ve volunteered with various nonprofits and civic entrepreneurship groups throughout the Bay Area to work on issues such as mental health awareness, access to healthcare professionals, and diversity and inclusion. Given my interest in activism, I was drawn to Preemadonna’s mission of using their Nailbots to inspire students, regardless of gender or background, to get involved in STEM and to get in touch with their creative sides. A lot of the projects I’ve worked on have been grassroots work that is community oriented, but I know there are many different ways to elicit change. I’m excited to work with Preemadonna to learn about how tech companies can create fun, useful products that positively impact their users.
Over the next few weeks, I hope to spread Preemadonna’s message through this blog and to connect Preemadonna to students in the area who may be interested in learning about STEM and art through the Nailbot.
