Hi Preemadonnas! I’m Aastha and I am interning at Preemadonna this summer. I learned about Preemadonna and the Nailbot through my sister, Ankita. After watching the Nailbot tutorial video, I was amazed by how perfectly the cute designs appeared on the participant’s nails and knew this would be a great place for me to both help out and learn more.
I’m currently a junior at Cupertino High School hoping to major in Computer Science. I have participated in various coding camps presented by Jr. Java and Girls Teaching Girls to Code, where I developed a strong interest in problem-solving due to the challenging assignments. My favorite project was designing my own version of Bomber Man - an arcade-style, sprite game - in Java.
My name is Jodie Cheung. I will be pursing my MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business this Fall. I am very excited to join Preemadonna this summer to work with a fun team of people with diverse talents and backgrounds. I look forward to learning more about the tech industry and the journey to become a female CEO in Silicon Valley like Pree! Through my consulting experience working with Consumer Products companies, I have developed a passion to satisfy consumers' needs through innovative solutions. I am thrilled to be part of Preemadonna's mission to build smart products and creative platforms to inspire others.
On April 15th 2017, in partnership with the Prince George’s County Parks and Recreation, the Flash Technology Summit happened! The Flash Technology Summit was a day of small workshops that all centered around technology. There were three different workshops, the iYouth MultiMedia workshop lead by Community Connextionz and focused on the audio visual concepts, the STEAM America workshop which taught kids how to create web pages. The workshop personally lead by myself (Adrian McClanahan) was hands on with building printers and coding them - i.e. the Preemadonna Maker Kit.
Hello Preemadonnas! My name is Ankita Upadhyay and I am currently a rising junior at UCSC pursuing a B.S. degree in computer science. I have a loving family with amazing, supportive parents, and a cute little sister who may or may not be better than me at coding. My best friend, Sneha, told me about Preemadonna and I was instantly intrigued by everything it stands for. Empowering women, inspiring creativity, and promoting self-expression all while utilizing tech skills by creating, inventing, designing…the possibilities are unlimited!
Hey Preemadonna people!
My name is Grace Quinn and I am a freshman this year at Indiana University studying business marketing and psychology. A couple quick fun facts about myself: I play the ukulele, I have two dogs named after my two favorite treats: Oreo and Rolo, I have lived in California my whole life so you can pretty much always find me at the beach, I am a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority, and I am super excited to be a summer intern!
What’s up Preemadonnas? My name is Sneha Ramesh, I’m 19 years old and a current sophomore at Santa Clara University majoring in Computer Science. I’m a new intern at Preemadonna, and I’m going to be working with Kyra to develop the new “Code Your Own Nail Art” website and then hopefully work on even more diverse projects in the future!
My name’s Charley and I’m a junior at the Harker School. I spend my time dancing, doing homework, and being forced by my parents into college counseling meetings. (Fortunately, I was introduced to Pree through my college counselor.)
Because I’m a baby, my life’s story is pretty short. I went to a private preschool, grew up going to public school, and now I’m at another private school. This means my parent’s standards are realllllyyy high, but thankfully for me, my school offers so many classes that my parents want me to take (especially if they start with the letters AP). I took programming summer before sophomore year since computer science was a requirement and my mom forced me to take a different course since I didn’t get into to the AP Chemistry course. I was immediately intrigued by a little robot called Karel that we controlled using Java. I was so excited for what was to come. Then, we stopped using the robot and started creating larger and more logical Java projects. I was just about ready to give up since I realized I actually had to use more brain power. But, oddly enough, programming turned out to be one of my favorite classes of high school.

My name is Devon Goszkowicz and I am a junior at the University of Illinois, studying Materials Science and Engineering. Materials Science is a discipline that draws from chemistry, physics, and engineering to understand materials that we see in our daily lives. There are a few different categories in Materials Science, or MatSE, such as ceramics, biomaterials, polymers, electronic materials, and metals. Ceramics can range from glasses to materials in cell phones, while biomaterials can be items such as knee replacements, prosthetics, or braces. Polymers are commonly thought of as plastics, while electronic materials include the items that make up your computer.
My name is Sona Kaul. I am an industrial engineering major at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating in May 2017. I am working on the Preemadonna mobile app and I am also a MakerGirl Change Maker!
My experiences and knowledge that I have gained with Preemadonna and MakerGirl have truly opened my eyes to the progress that women have made in recent years but also all the progress we have yet to make.
