In today’s American society, it is fair to say when males paint their nails it is considered stange. However, thousands of years ago painting nails was normal for men. Here where some examples.
In 3200 BC, people in Babylonia wore different nail polish colors to signify classes. The darker the color the higher class you are and alternatively the lighter colors were for lower classes. Even the soldiers would put on black and green nail polish. They actually believed having those colors on would intimidate and instill fear into their enemies.

Wednesday Oct 4th : Day 1
I made it to Columbus, Ohio for the Girl Scout Convention all in one piece! After a five-hour flight, Pree and I landed in John Glenn Columbus International Airport and were immediately hit with signs for the convention everywhere we went. There were volunteers there ready to help us get to our hotel with ease to recharge our batteries for the next day. Even while we were on the bus to the hotel, everyone was chit chatting about whether they were here for the convention. Once Pree and I got settled in, we decided to stretch our legs and check out the Convention Center. I don’t know about you but I was not expecting the convention center to be so long. Maybe its my short legs that made it feel like walking from one side to the other was like walking through an expanse of prairie with the horizon ever stretching away from you. By the time we finally reached the Hall of Experiences where our Preemadonna booth would be, I could have sworn we had crossed state lines, but it was worth it though because I got to peek through the doors and what lay behind them got me super excited for tomorrow. I’m not going to tell you now because I don’t want to spoil the surprise. You’ll just have to wait till tomorrow to find out the awesomeness that is awaiting. For now, good night and get pumped for G.I.R.L. Con 2017!
Hello beautiful Preemadonnas!
My name is Jacquelene Pham and I am moving toward my junior year at UCSC aiming for my B.S. degree in computer engineering. I have a loving family and group of friends back at home that continues to support each other to become better people. Scrolling through my social media feed one day, I found my friend Ankita, posting about a cool robot that left her painted nails fully designed– this was how I discovered Preemadonna. After hearing more about it, I was instantly amazed and inspired by how the organization put the two worlds of tech and beauty together. I knew it would be a wonderful place for me to contribute my passions and knowledge while learning more alongside the Preemadonna team.

Right now, I’m doing tech-y things in college (tons of programming), but I’m also super into design and art.
